Whether you live close by or passing by, we welcome neighbors from all around to join us in Wilmette this holiday season. We will be decked out with a cozy home-town holiday feel and with over 100 locally owned shops and restaurants, we are the perfect holiday destination. The holidays may look a little different this year but we are getting back to what’s important by staying close to home with friends and family and supporting our local businesses. The Village has three events held throughout the holiday season to help you get in the spirit including 12 Days of Giving, Wilmette’s Best Dressed, and Game of Gnomes.

12 Days of Giving

With so many people in need the Village is partnering with our local businesses to offer 12 Days of Giving. Starting the week of Thanksgiving you can help support local charities by shopping at local participating merchants who will donate a portion of their proceeds to District 39 Educational Foundation, Woman’s Club of Wilmette, The Wilmette Theatre, and Family Service Center.

Wilmette’s Best Dressed – Window Decorating Contest

The Village of Wilmette is excited to announce the 1st holiday window decorating contest!  In line with our “Home for the Holiday” 2020 theme, the merchants are stepping up their storefront décor, creating a festive and cozy environment and making Wilmette a destination to visit, shop and celebrate this holiday season.

How can you participate?  Check out the storefront window displays from participating merchants and VOTE for your favorite.  Post a pic on social media using #wilmetteholidaywindow2020 until Dec 18.  Winners announced Dec 21 on Wilmette-onomics FB and IG.  Come on out and support your local businesses.

Game of Gnomes Scavenger Hunt

Set out on a holiday adventure in Downtown Wilmette!  Search the storefronts for 12 Gnomes hiding amongst the holiday window decor.  Write in the names as you find each one!

When you find all 12, drop off your game card at the Game of Gnomes drop box at the Wild Child Toy Shop 1114 Central Avenue.  You will be entered to win gift cards from the Wilmette local business of your choice.
